The city of Wellington, Florida is located in the western part of The Palm Beaches. Wellington shares a southern border with the Florida Everglades and balances a unique family atmosphere with an abundance of outdoor and indoor recreational activities, with cultural and educational activities with state of the art facilities for all ages. Wellington is one of the most successfully hand-crafted communities in Palm Beach County, Florida. Wellington has become a premier south Florida city known for it’s wonderful parks, grade A schools, gorgeous neighborhoods and of course the polo and equestrian events.
Back in 1951, the founder Charles Oliver Wellington, an investor from the state of New York, purchased a large amount of land just northeast of the famous Florida Everglades. Thanks to a Florida state mandate, draining and flood control initiatives were put in place and the formerly waterlogged area was soon changed into a large amount of fertile farmland. This farmland yielded several different crops including the world’s biggest strawberry patch. This farmland would eventually become the city of Wellington, Florida as we know it today!
